City OF Stockholm, Traffic Administration Invite to a workshop on Trees and stormwater
- using structural soils as a sustainable solution for local management of storm water and extending the life of urban trees.
The discoveries made in recent years concerning root growth and the design of suitable tree substrates to develop a robust, load-bearing root space are being used by the Traffic Administration in the City of Stockholm to develop a concept to improve the life of urban trees. An important element in this concept is the systematic utilization of the rainwater from surfaced areas for watering of the trees in a well ventilated medium with high coarse-pore content.
18.00-21.00. Guided trip in the evening by boat enables us to visit further places/sites in Stockholm. The tour starts at Slussen goes to Narvavägen, passes the 500 year old park Kungsträdgården with 250 new lime trees and ends in the Old Town at Kornhamnstorg.
